National Dance Institute (NDI) coming to TISA kindergarten in October! This year's program will be focused on the RIVERS OF THE WORLD. I am psyched!
Check out their home page here: http://www.ndi-nm.org/

October 5 (next Monday) from 1 to 3pm: walking field trip to farm off of Canon Road (goats, pigs, green house, horses) -- please let me know if you'd like to join us.

October 15 (evening): Lantern Walk (please bring small stick candles -- available at Cid's in many colors) -- songs will be sent home for sing-along.

Pizza was a huge success! Thank you for your sponsorship. Every single child in kinder was able to have pizza. In the future, if you'd like to sponsor a few slices for children in our class, please mark ALL the slices by your child's name, stating that the extra slices will go to kindergarten (otherwise they will be routed to other grades).
Also, the pizza money will be accepted through TUESDAY MORNING and be placed in the envelope on the classroom door. Bringing money later than that creates miscommunication and extra stress for the teacher (Miss Patsy) collecting the money from the whole campus. Let's all support each other the best we can! Thank you for your understanding.

Requests:
crickets or meal worms (please sign up for helping with our class pet)
tennis balls (for chair legs) -- need to replace a few (5-10)
extra snack stash (to be shared on field trips and outings, or when someone is in a pinch)
(snack ideas: nuts, crackers, granola bars, juice boxes, water (in small bottles), dried fruit (the only allergy I am aware of is melon)
Spread the word! There are 3 more openings in kindergarten.

Calling for a carpool!

In the Blueberry Hill area
Our friend, Shea needs help with transportation to / from school.
Please email Michelle (mwcdoula@gmail.com) or Sandy (sandy.campbell@gmail.com) if you are available to help.

Readers of the Caribbean!

On September 22nd parents and children are invited to our Readers of the Caribbean event hosted by grades K through 5. Come dressed as a pirate. Eat, drink, be merry, and learn how to help your child become a better reader.
